Dr Luthra completed his MS (General Surgery) and MCh (Cardiac Surgery) from AFMC, Pune. He has worked as a senior registrar in cardiac surgery in the NHS, UK. He has also done a fellowship in coronary artery surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia and attended a visiting fellowship in cardiac transplantation from Cleveland Heart Clinic, USA.
